Salary and Benefits: $425/week; Room and Board 

Program Length / Dates: Summer 2017, 2-3 Weeks (one week of on-site training; see specific program dates below)

 

 

About Blueprint Summer Programs

Our company offers personal, innovative, and fun pre-college summer programs for students entering grades 9 - 12 students. Here's what they get to do:

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Program Instructor, assist in organizing classroom activities and teaching courses at Blueprint’s signature summer program at designated locations (see specific course offerings and program locations).

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in providing a fun, distinctive and intensive educational course in a dynamic college setting
  • Work with Program Instructors to plan and execute all day-to-day class functions
  • Support and assist with Blueprint’s full-day College and Career Readiness Summit
  • Monitor and participate in student evening and weekend activities; ensure student safety
  • Engage all students in a way that inspires comfortable adjustment to life on a college campus and away from friends and family
  • Serve as a caring, compassionate mentor and adult presence to all students at all times, including (but not limited to): Classroom time, planned activities, off-campus activities, student mealtimes, student free time and room checks
  • Be prepared to assist with all academic and non-academic activities and providing general program/office administrative support
  • Assist in supervising all on-campus and off-campus activities, including student special events and road trips

Minimum Requirements:

  • Recent graduates who have completed student teaching or graduate students in the process of completing a degree in a field related to course of instruction
  • Must have some experience in mentoring youth, tutoring and/or student advising.
  • College degree or currently enrolled in college program, or have received some college credit
  • Must be able to travel to and from designated Blueprint Summer Program location
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Desired Qualifications:

  • Summer/ enrichment program or adjunct teaching experience
  • Involvement in student organizations, career advising and/or academic administration
  • Passion for mentoring youth, sharing knowledge and achieving learning objectives
  • Outstanding leadership skills, while also being able to recognize and appreciate group cohesion/ collaboration
  • Caring, compassionate and selfless
  • Thrive in unstructured, high-intensity environments
  • Proactive problem solver, quick thinking and entrepreneurial
  • Can-do, positive attitude and high energy
  • Team player; willing to participate in various program activities

  • Current CPR/ First Aid certification is a plus
