Job Type: Seasonal/ Temp

Salary and Benefits: $750/week; Room and Board 

Program Length / Dates: Summer 2017, 3 Weeks (one week of on-site training; see specific program dates below)



Live on a beautiful college campus this summer and help make a difference in the lives of gifted high school students from around the world. Our national pre-college summer program is seeking talented and caring college students to join our summer staff in 2017 as managers of general health and safety of all students and staff. Each summer, all of our staff provide high school students with a friendly, exciting, and personal experience. Job Purpose

With a compassionate and empathic nature, you will supervise the general health of summer program students and staff, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety standards and policies at designated location (see specific program locations below).


Essential Duties:

  • Ensure that compliance with the state and federal regulations and health codes is met
  • Provide first aid and oversight: nursing care of illnesses and accidents as directed by physician, take responsibility for calling the physician when advisable, accompany campers and staff on trips to physician's office and/or hospital as necessary
  • Dispense daily medication to students
  • Establish and maintain contacts with physician and with local hospital facilities
  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies efficiently.
  • Initiate health education and safety practices; develop and maintain health emergency procedures; instruct staff in unit first aid procedures during pre-program training
  • Establish and maintain regular Health Office hours
  • Collect, review, and maintain incoming program participants' treatment and health certificates/information; notifies staff members of health precautions of participants when indicated
  • Complete and keep on file necessary reports (such as daily treatment log, health department reports and other required reports); submits log and other information to the Program Director at the completion of each program

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required
  • Minimum 2 years experience working or interning in a medical facility or office
  • Must be able to travel to and from designated Blueprint Summer Program location
  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse (Blueprint will own the cost of Connecticut State Licensure, if needed.)
  • Must be at least 25 years of age

    • Training Dates: June 18th - June 24th, Program Dates: June 25th - July 9th 
  • University of Connecticut, Storrs CT
    • Training Dates: July 16th - July 22nd, Program Dates: July 23rd - August 5th
