Resident Advisors - Multiple Locations

Blueprint Summer Programs (Pre-College Program)

Salary and Benefits: $400 / week, Paid Training, Housing and Meals Included
Program Length/ Dates: Summer 2018, 2- 3 weeks (See program locations and dates below)

 

Job Purpose:

Organize and supervise all non-academic program activities of Blueprint Summer Programs at designated locations, while providing a fun, safe and personal pre-college experience to all students (see specific program locations below).

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor and participate in student activities; ensure student safety
  • Develop and lead all extracurricular programming and special events, using supplied materials effectively and creatively
  • Effectively serve in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Serve as a caring, compassionate mentor and adult presence to all students at all times, including (but not limited to): Classroom time, planned activities, off-campus activities, student meal-times, student free time and room checks
  • Engage all students in a way that inspires comfortable adjustment to life on a college campus and away from friends and family
  • Provide general office administrative support and perform a variety of other administrative tasks, including (but not limited to): general office work, supply purchasing, monitor student issues, create hallway and floor decor, contribute to program set-up/breakdown
  • Coordinate field trip logistics and execution
  • Implement all program rules, procedures and safety guidelines

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree, currently enrolled in college program or have received some college credit
  • Must be able to travel to and from designated Blueprint Summer Program location.
  • Must be able to walk long distances
  • Must have some experience in mentoring youth, tutoring and/or student advising.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • CPR Certification is required
  • Able to walk long distances, daily (around a college campus)
  • Creative, with a great sense of humor
  • Ability to stay organized and thrive in unstructured, high-intensity environments

  • Can- do, positive attitude and high energy

  • Outstanding leadership skills, while also being able to recognize and appreciate group cohesion/ collaboration

  • Summer program experience is a plus

  • Session Dates: June 24th - July 7th (Staff departure date dependent upon student enrollment, subject to change)

Session C

  • Training: July 4 - July 7 (on-site) + 1 day of online/self paced training
  • Session Dates: July 8 - July 21 (Staff departure date dependent upon student enrollment, subject to change)

  • Training: June 27 - June 30 (on-site) + 1 day of online/self paced training

Session A
